If you are assuming this will be available to existing owners, and not on a new model I suggest you back read (where this link is already available) and pay attention to the details. Wont be available? then learn to read pls before post this senseless ) Time will tell, your laptop didn't start sucking just because you don't get this new feature, some of ya'll need to settle down :P IMO existing owners will not see official support, however I have almost no doubt we will see unofficial support. That said since it is their IP they can distribute it at will, and restrict it to licensed use only. Now IMO it is a bit BSish that the laptops are capable and they may be left out of official support, but that would be on nVidia, it is their IP and their licensing. If they don't then they have done absolutely nothing wrong. If Asus provides it to current owners that is a step above and beyond and they should be applauded for doing so. You bought this laptop w/o any indication that it supports G-Sync. Meaning it cost Asus money to provide this feature with out a doubt. G-Sync is likely a licensed feature, it definitely cost to have your device certified. *sigh* the sense of entitlement from some of the people here. I bet 5 pesos that we will be welcoming G751jy-G owners soon :) but I'm guessing we will be left out in the cold at this point. In fact seeing the list of laptops this appears to be the case:Īsus doesn't list a model number at all, and not I'm familiar with the Clevos but they have "G" slaped on the end at well. While I hope this gets all figured out and we get G-Sync legitimately I wouldn't be surprised if basically the exact same model is released as a G-Sync capable model with essentially nothing more than a bit flipped. Reading Anandtech's article on mobile G-Sync it apears there is a certification process.
